The objective
We want US stocks investing to be a fun and delightful experience that can be a part of people’s daily lives. We want to explore making a stock gifting experience to achieve that. It can achieve both improving the overall experience on the app, but also to maintain more retention on the app.
Sending the gift
As the users in Gotrade will be registered in both email and phone number, people can easily choose either one that they prefer to send the gift. If apparently the receiver is not registered yet, they can easily send an invitation to join Gotrade directly. The default would be sending it by email, since based on our survey, data, and research, more users engage through email for links, since it can be verified more easily, especially with the rise of phishing scams, making people hesitant to allow permission to sync the contact in their phone.
Personalizing the gift
Since we believe a gift should be a personal experience, we will send the gift through a virtual gift card, making the experience more immersive and has a hint of tactility. To make it even more personal, we enable them to customize the cards through choosing the color, the emoji, and also to put a message. For ease of use, we also prepared some messages that people might want to use.
A gift for all special occasions
We also realized that some special days deserve some extra length. We also make special cards for special occasions that will be updated and added more along the way to keep the experience fresh and new. While the users can still put a personal touch through a custom message.
You’ve got a gift!
When someone receives a stock gift, they will be notified about the happy news, and when they open it, they will be shown who sent it, the gift, and if there is also a message from the sender. Once they accept the gift, there will be a blast of emojis to celebrate the occasion.
The conclusion
Although investing in stocks can feel like a very serious thing, a fun and delightful experience can still be made through features that allow people to interact with others. This feature will also allow the app to become a part of their daily lives.
